Lights Spectacular ~ Hill Country Style
The twinkliest town in the hill country celebrates its
31st annual Lights Spectacular.
For the last 31 years, Johnson City transforms itself from a slow-paced, presidential hometown nestled on the banks of the Pedernales River, into a bright beacon of light like a guiding star welcoming visitors with good old fashioned Christmas cheer.

Follow the Glow....The Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) will illuminate its Johnson City Headquarters in 2020. More than 1.3 million LED bulbs will light up PEC’s campus during the holidays. The lights will turn on Friday, Nov. 27, at 6 p.m., and will shine from 6 p.m. to Midnight every night through Sunday, Jan. 3. Any visitors are encouraged to enjoy the lights from the safety of their vehicle. Otherwise, visitors will be asked to abide by any COVID-19 orders issued by local and state authorities. Orders may include requirements as to the numbers of people gathering, social distancing and face coverings. In-person visits to the lights at PEC Headquarters are at the visitor’s own risk. Due to COVID-19 concerns, PEC will not conduct its annual holiday lights photo contest this year.
